How the step-up SIP value is worked out
The calculator adds the monthly amount at the start of each month, grows the pot at the yearly return divided by 12, and raises the monthly amount by your yearly increase at the start of every new year. It then adds up the result for the whole period.
The return you enter is an assumption. Actual returns vary and are not guaranteed, and the result does not include fund charges or tax.
Common questions
What is a step-up SIP?
A step-up SIP raises your monthly investment by a set percentage every year, for example when your income grows. The calculator shows what that rising amount could grow to over time.
Why does a step-up make such a difference?
Later instalments are larger, so you invest much more in total, even though each year's increase looks small. Compare the result with a flat SIP of the same starting amount to see the gap.
Is the result guaranteed?
No. It uses one steady yearly return, which real investments do not deliver. Treat the result as an illustration, not a forecast.
